All watches which we send to the STS group undergo the same rigorous procedures to ensure that you receive the best possible service.
1. Movement Preparation and Cleaning
The watch movement is dismantled by hand with any signs of damage or wear and tear being repaired or replaced. It is then delicately cleaned in a series of ultrasonic chemical baths.
2. Case preparation and refinishing
The case is completely broken down and cleaned in large ultrasonic tanks before being reassembled with new seals and gaskets which are lubricated as required with special greases.
3. Parts Department
STS carries an extensive range of spare parts, including some parts which are no longer manufactured and not available even in Switzerland. All stock is housed in a temperature-controlled environment.

4. Reassembly
The pristine components are systematically reassembled and lubricated using specific oils and greases. The movement is regulated on a timing machine and adjusted according to the manufacturer’s specification before the dial and hands are refitted and the movement is set into the watch case.
5. Quality control and waterproof checking
Every watch passes through Quality Control which checks that your instructions have been completed and that the technical characteristics of your watch, such as timekeeping, water resistance and power reserve have been verified. Any variances detected outside of the manufacturer’s tolerances are then sent back to the watch maker for further fine tuning. This process takes between 2 and 5 days due to these precision requirements.
6. Returning your watch
Once completed your watch is returned with a 12-24 month warranty on either a full service or replacement parts. This provides you with the added confidence that your watch has been serviced at the highest standards and specifications.
